The U.S government has announced the date for doomsday. It’s February 17, 2009. That’s the day that your old TV — bringer of entertainment and enlightenment — switches from planned programming to endless static. No more talk shows where the on-stage guests have IQs resembling shoe sizes; no more shows with three-letter acronyms like CSI, SVU, PSI, or QVC; no more product commercials in which people discuss their disgusting personal problems over lunch with friends; no more political commercials in which candidates discuss their opponentâs disgusting personal problems over a microphone with America; no more … well, anything. Just static.
Which, might not be so bad. Except that the point of this essay is that it will be bad, so let me return to my point….

Hey Kevin! Another winning show as always. This particular subject drives me crazy. Forcing people to needlessly buy new equipment just because the TV-powers-that-be decided we all couldn’t possibly be satisfied with the incredible pictures we get now. No…we have to have even more incredible pictures…in fact, everybody MUST have them, even if they can’t afford it. It’s such a boondoggle, I can’t begin to tell you how livid it makes me. Thankfully, I have your show to make me laugh at the whole thing and realize that I’m not alone out there. Take it easy and keep on ‘casting!
